Our Treatments

Holistic Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a holistic treatment that can be received for both therapeutic and relaxation purposes and will always be tailored to your requirements.

HOLISTIC MASSAGE THERAPY
Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage works by aiding the changes taking place in a woman’s body and can have positive effects for both mother and growing baby. It is also an opportunity in which mum to be can have a moment alone to herself to rejuvenate and feel appreciated. Regular massage throughout pregnancy may aid the relief of tension due to postural changes taking place, may support relaxation, help reduce stress and increase general feelings of well-being. Massage during pregnancy is performed on the couch in a side lying position.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a treatment comprising of slow, firm deep strokes, friction and stretching techniques, to access the deeper layers of the muscle. It helps by bringing relief to chronic muscle tension and pain. Along with this Deep Tissue Massage creates deep relaxation within the body and may be beneficial in helping manage stress and stress-related conditions and aid in improving sleep.

At your initial treatment, a consent form will be required to be filled in and a full case history consultation will be taken by your therapist. This will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes depending on your situation. This is something to consider when you decide whether to book a 60 minute or 45 minute treatment. This is an important part of the treatment.  It enables your therapist to get an accurate picture of your current state of health, rule out any possible contraindications which could affect your treatment and allows the treatment to be tailored specifically for you. Follow-up treatments generally require just a few minutes update.

If you have any specific medical conditions, injuries, taking medication, had recent surgery of any kind or you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant you must inform your therapist. If you are unsure whether a particular treatment is suitable for a particular condition you have, please email me or request a call back so we can discuss this before you book. Occasionally it may be that your GP’s consent in the form of a letter may be required before you can have treatment.

Sometimes people are not sure what treatment to book when making an appointment. You do not have to decide until the day. Just let the receptionist know when you call (If you are considering the possibility of an abdominal massage please book a 60 minute consultation). As I take a full case history at your first appointment and work holistically, often combining treatments and their techniques, we can decide the best course of action together on the day after discussing your reason for coming.

It is recommended that you avoid eating a heavy meal 2 hours prior to the treatment. Comfortable loose clothing is recommended for therapies where you are not required to undress to your underclothes.
