She is a member of, and is regulated by, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
Catherine is dedicated to working with clients who are ready to make a positive change to their health. She is passionate about helping individuals and families understand that our bodies need the right tools (nutrients) for the machine (body) to thrive.
Areas of interest
The gut! This is where it all starts. Our digestive system, from mouth to anus is, when working properly an amazing function. From chewing our foods, absorbing nutrients, removing waste, every part of our this system has a pivotal role to play. However, more and more in the modern world, we have a myriad of things working against us having optimally functioning gut: processed foods, sugary drinks, antibiotics, over the counter medication overuse, chronic stress just to name a few. When our gut is not working as it should, the body is not receiving the nutrients it requires, things can begin to go wrong. Individuals develop food intolerances, have more weight management problems, increased fatigue, as well as abdominal discomfort such as bloating and flatulence, unexplained IBS symptoms.
By understanding where our gut & body may need support, we can begin to work towards ensuring that we are providing the body with the nutrients it needs to nurture and rebalance.
First it is important to acknowledge that imbalances did not happen overnight. There is no quick fix, no one tablet to take. Catherine works with clients for a minimum of 3 consultations over a three month period. She works with clients to help them understand what may be contributing to their current symptoms, and assists them in making permanent positive changes to their diet and lifestyle, working towards optimal health.
As an Aussie, Catherine’s has a relaxed manner and makes some sometimes complicated biochemical processes, easy to understand, so that the client understands the importance following any recommendations.
