Frequent Asked Questions
about IBC Care remote consultations and follow up treatment guidance
How does the online consultation work?
A consultation encompasses taking a thorough patient history and the details as to the onset and manifestation of the current health concern. During the consultation the osteopath will narrow down a possible diagnosis and, while the practitioner will not conduct a physical exam, a working diagnosis may be reached by asking the patient to demonstrate movements that are causing pain. While of course, an in-person consultation will always be preferable to a remote session, starting treatment will hopefully provide peace of mind to the patient. Depending on the working diagnosis reached, Dr Bramati PhD, BSc (Hons) Ost Med, DO, ND Osteopath & Naturopath will be able to guide the patient on exercise prescription, postural adjustments, simple ergonomic changes within the household setting as well as mindfulness guidance to deal with anxiety during this difficult time.
How does the online follow up work?
Dr Bramati PhD, BSc (Hons) Ost Med, DO, ND Osteopath & Naturopath will access your osteopathic records online and follow up from the last session you had with her. Within the consultation, Dr Bramati PhD will review your current condition and then adjust and build on her osteopathic and naturopathic advice going forward.
Do I need any special equipment for the video call?
Not at all. The only equipment you will need should come readily installed on your mobile phone, iPad or laptop. The consultation will be by video so we will utilise the camera and microphone already built in to your device.
You’ll be sent a link to access your video call at the time of your session.
Can we use FaceTime or WhatsApp instead?
We will only be using one platform for the consultations. At IBC Care we take security very seriously. Our preferred platform is an encrypted secure system that runs across mobile devices and desktops. You’ll be sent a link to access your video call at the time of your session.
